Sightseeing and Eating Out around Sisters Beach

Take a Walk on the Wildside

Insert Intro paragraph

Short Walks

  1. Short loop to Lee Archer Walk, wet caves, banksia grove. Head to the Boat ramp (west of the shack) to start

  2. Postman's Track. A bit tricky to choose your start point as you have to backtrack, but the best way to walk it is by starting at the car park, a few meters east of Lake Llewellyn (you will have to drive back out of sisters beach and park )

Half day walk - Sisters Beach

  1. Doone Falls and Anniversary Bay. This is a loop starting opposite the toilet block at the boat ramp.

  2. Sisters beach coastal route to Rocky Cape. 3 hrs one way/ 6 hr return.

You will need to car drop for the half walk!

Full day walk - Sisters to Rocky Cape loop

(inland one way/ coastal the other)

If you'd really like to do the one-way option, I would be more than happy to arrange collection at Rocky Cape end and deliver you back to the shack. It really is worth it.

Drive Yourself

Stanley - Breakfast at Leather & Wood cafe

Hike the nut, spend an hour or two in Highfield House. There are guided tour options, but I highly recommend doing the house at your own pace if you love learning about treacherous history. There is a lot of reading to do, and take the time to really feel the experience.

Stop at Gullivers Rest (east inlet on your drive back out the neck of Stanley and dip your feet in the ocean while enjoying the scenery!

Mawbanna - Blue Hills Honey beekeeping experience

Learn about the birds and bees (well, the bees at least) and sample a delicious selection of honey, then take lunch at the onsite cafe - The Colony.

Hop in the car and drive a further 6km to view Dip Falls from above, or take the moderately easy trek down to the base to see the falls in all their tumbling glory from a safe viewing platform. You can then head home via New Haven Rd (gravel road for 15km) if you prefer not to backtrack via the same route.

Dine Out

Stanley - The Stanley Hotel, Tasmanian Wine & Food & Hursey Seafood

If you are looking for a lovely dining experience, take another tour to Stanley and enjoy a pre-dinner drink at the Tasmanian Food & Wine Bar. Follow this up with a short stroll across the street to the Stanley Hotel Bistro for dinner. The Stanley Hotel serves excellent food, but it is often booked out due to its popularity. I suggest calling early to check availability. If you aren't lucky enough to get a seat at the Hotel, Hursey Seafoods is another excellent option.

Wynyard - Head northeast to Wynyard, where you will find The Vault Cafe Bar. The Vault offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. It also has a beautiful bar, and the decor is fabulous.

Boat Harbour - Even closer than The Vault is Vali Kitchen, located on the Bass Highway at Boat Harbour.

(10 min from your stay)

Boat Harbour Beach -  Down the hill, right by the beach, you'll find Sweet Ness by The Sea. I'd suggest breakfast or lunch but I wouldn’t recommend this location for a romantic evening dining experience.

(7 min from your stay)

Burnie - If you’re in the mood for romance, and a view with a little wow factor, you can’t go past Bayviews Restaurant & Lounge Bar in Burnie

(30 min from your stay)

Enjoy ....
